When the patients enter the hospital, to allow them to navigate inside hospital, a printed Barcode/QRCode would be help full. It not only helps the patient, also helps multiple locations inside hospital. It also reduces the patient to remember their ID.
Motivation
I am currently helping a small hospital to use an EMR application, their one of the requirements is printing labels (barcode/qrcode) for everything, to minimize the errors.
Example
Step by step
PatientA doesn't know reading and writing
Patient A entered the hospital
They are new and registered at reception
Want book an appointment with a doctor
At appointment time, the nurse wants to take vitals
Inside the out patient room, doctor checks the patient and suggests medication
In the pharmacy, PatientA wants to pickup medicine.
At billing, PatientA wants to quickly pay the bill
Overall, patient moved between multiple locations in the same hospital. So just to make the patient movement efficient it would be a better idea to adopt a QRCode/Barcode.
