In this discussion we consider whether or not users should be able to remove a step from the integration and be presented with a "slot" in its place, similar to a placeholder. The user can then drag and drop a step from the catalog onto the slot. See below for other considerations.
Considerations & Points of Discussion
How much would the user benefit from the ability to have slots to be able to organize steps in an integration?
Could we show the user a slot around the existing step when they hover over it, to indicate that they can add a new step to there? At what point would we stop this, as it could be relatively infinite?
If a user were to drag a step from the integration and move it over another step, should the steps "swap places"? Should it replace the existing step and put a "slot" in its original place?
