After recovering from the DDoS attack on Infinite Zero, I thought that we were in the clear. No problems, right? The problems were far from over. On September 8, 2022, I check on how the hacks are doing, and what the people are saying. For some reason, everything is broken... again. I checked everything, and the repls were experiencing problems: they were getting tons of requests from random bot IPs (known as getting DDoSed).
I tried to bring back the repls to work. However, the fucking microscopic processing power of the repls was way too small to run P-NP instances while getting attacked. Meanwhile, I still had tons of schoolwork, my physical & now nonexistent mental health, and dreams of getting more than 4 hours of sleep. The discord channels were being flooded with support requests, so I made another announcement in #hack-announcements, this time with an
@everyone
ping for good measure, and then locked the #support channel because people were STILL asking.Anyways, today I forked P-NP and made it possible to be run on a standalone server, no proxies required. I set up some DNS stuff on Cloudflare, bought yet another DigitalOcean Droplet, and changed the URL on Infinite Zero to only match hacks.prodigypnp.com. This solution seemed to work, and as fast as I could without breaking shit up, I pushed all the updates I needed. It was done. I unlocked #support and made another announcement in #hack-announcements, and hacks were finally back.
Next Steps
Who's DDoSing?
I blamed hostedposted in #153.
Hostedposted also claims that he is not the one responsible for the DDoS. He said:
I asked him why he thinks so. He responded:
Hosted is a smart man, however I cannot trust him due to our... competitive relations of sorts.
My final guess is either Hosted/ProdigyX or Prodigy/SMARTeacher.
