This is a feature request for the voting system. @lucasrangit @ligi @stefanhoth (I would have loved to discuss this in person this evening, but unfortunately I can't make it today. So writing this ticket is the best I can do for now.)

I propose to:

  • Add a Markdown export to the voting system, where winner is already marked as such.
  • (Bonus points) Provide optional additional input fields per presentation in addition to the hack name (hack URL, presenter name, presenter URL), so it is easier to fetch those information and perhaps already e.g. show the link already at the time of the voting.
  • (Extra bonus points) Fully automate the creation of the initial pull request, so the voting system operator can do this by hitting a single button. (e.g. using a GitHub API key, or a local checkout, or something)

Rationale: With Markdown export, creating the initial pull request is straight forward and could happen without extra effort right at the end of the event. Regarding the bonus point featre: If additional fields are present, collecting the information from the presenters may be fast, and might be provided to the audience right at the time of the voting.

For an example how the export and the additional fields might look like, please have a look at my tiny prototype:
