c3.js does not evolve a lot.
I just found this : c3js/c3#2523
and went to have a look at https://naver.github.io/billboard.js/
that shows me https://github.com/naver/billboard.js/wiki/Why-we-decided-to-start-billboard.js%3F

Questions: could it be relevent to switch from c3.js to billboard.js ? How complex ? what would be win ?
Open question...

I think these issues/pages are outdated. c3 now uses the latest version of d3.js (v5) and the latest release of c3 was 3 months ago, so it is still maintained.

So I think we don't need to switch, unless billboard has additional features that we want to use in urungi

billboard:

  • has much more contributors
  • has much more patches [https://github.com/c3js/c3/pulse/monthly vs https://github.com/naver/billboard.js/pulse/monthly]
  • has new chart types:

that's what we could win I think.
@jajm = how complex would it be to switch ?

According to https://github.com/naver/billboard.js/wiki/How-to-migrate-from-C3.js%3F it should be relatively easy (a few search&replace should do the trick)

@jajm jajm changed the title s/c3/billboard/ ? Replace c3 by billboard ? Sep 22, 2020
