In that scenario, borg will be fast as (due to deduplication and the files cache) it can process the unchanged files very fast (it will neither read their contents, nor write already existing content data (again) to the repo). It will always back up all the files you give to it though, so it is always a full backup. |

Evening,
Is there a way to update borg backup of a directory without re-writing the unchanged files?
I have a directory that i constantly add files to. I'd like to make timed backup of this directory but i'd prefer only omit the new files to the backup because the folder is quiet big and i feel like weekly re-writing ten's of gigs is just a waste of my HDD's life span.
