i flashed the wrong file #100
Comments
You can't, unfortunately. At least not with the default PS1 or PS2 browsers. See https://github.com/brad-lin/FreePSXBoot#warning for details. Your best bet if you only have the PS2 default browser would be to buy another cheap memory card and use it to flash the correct file. Then you can use unirom to reformat the other memory card. |
shit guess i gotta buy another one but thx man |
wait there is no freemcboot stuff that could format the card? |
It's possible, yes, but I wouldn't know. |
i was able to burn unirom on to a cd-r and format the memory card and flash the correct bios version on to the card with mca now it boots into fpsxb and now its stuck on a full green progress bar |
nevermind i just reinstalled the mcd but just slot 2 |
FYI - this guy provides another workaround which I used to format my memory card - https://youtu.be/ggpm-thuaTY?t=1237 Basically it involves using PSX Memory Card Formatter - https://reachcoding.eu/psx-memory-card-formatter - but for that, you must be able to boot this thing up somehow. I ended up burning a CD and ironically booting it up using my memory card that had a working FreePSXBoot on it, the same memory card that I formatted next. |
my dumbass flashed the wrong file to my card there was 2 files for scph-101 i used the first one and when i pressed the memory card tab on my ps1 it just made the memory card icon black how do i reformat the card because every time i load up mca it just crashes if i have the card in my ps2
