ReactPlayer with redirected livestrem urls don't work

Bringing up, ReactPlayer doesn't seem to follow redirects, for example:
Livestream redirect
https://lb.ims-cdn.net/redirect/live/live_ims_27863_01?type=m3u8

tested with
"react-player": "^2.13.0",

also tested in demo page here by providing the URL there:
https://cookpete.com/react-player/

this issue is kind of a duplicate issue (#86) of which assumingly was resolved at 2016, however examples above seem to prove that it's still an issue.

Reading through react-player change logs couldn't identify parts that would resolve it.
So unless 2.16 has something done about it, the issue persists.
