Prerequisites

  • I checked the documentation and FAQ without finding a solution
  • I checked to make sure that this issue has not already been filed
  • I'm sure that question is related to the library itself and not Bluetooth Low Energy or Classic in general. If that so, please post your question on StackOverflow.
  • I'm running the latest version

Question

Hi, I am stuck at my MVP process. Can this library be used to detect nearby users/devices that are running the same application?
For example, device A sees device B and vice-versa? Or does the Android/iOS have rolling bluetooth identifier that cannot be tied to a specific device for identification?

Hi @lsimunec

It’s not possible to function as a peripheral, so the app you are creating won’t be able to advertise itself and therefore won’t be visible to other devices. Similar question

Hi @intent-kacper-cyranowski,

thanks for the info.

Creating a library react-native-discovery inspired by an older lib which has not been maintained.
