What's the status on no-std vs std?

How feature complete is no-std version of the esp32c3 ecosystem vs using esp-idf?

I'm not really sure how to quantify this, to be honest.

The std ecosystem supports whatever ESP-IDF does, whether this is via the safe Rust wrappers (eg. esp-idf-hal) or via the unsafe bindings (eg. esp-idf-sys). The no-std ecosystem has had to be written from the ground up, and has been being developed for much less time and by much fewer people, so it's obviously a lot less complete.

With that said, we do have drivers for most of the most common peripherals at this point. Whether or not they are "feature complete" is another story.

I'd like to add that the scopes of the projects is different. With esp-hal the missing features can often be added via other crates (like TLS with embedded-tls, HTTP(s) client with reqwless, etc.). The difference in scope means they will never be feature equivalent and that is not the goal.
