Removal of diacritics (accents)

Hi, asking here for suggestions.

When working with languages that have accents (diacritics), such as Greek, there might be a need to remove those accents in certain situations. For example in Greek, it's common that accents aren't used in all-caps text. So depending on the context you might want

ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΗ or Πολιτική. But not ΠΟΛΙΤΙΚΉ.

I would need something like a custom option to pass when translating, which would then remove these diacritics if the locale is such that it is required. In some other locale, such as Finnish, they need to remain always. But how to do this with Vue3 and vue-i18n v10?

The actual removal is pretty straightforward, something like str.normalize('NFD').replace(/[\u0301\u0342]/g, ''); but I struggle to find a good way to implement this so that it would be easily used in translations and check for the current locale first
