When you create a sample of points along lines that connect animal positions (via st_sample), you effectively create new data while also removing timestamps of original data. Linking re-routed movements to specific datetimes is important for analyses and visualizations - is it possible to generate interpolated datetimes for "fixed/re-routed" positions?
