Custom bangs (by @Milo123459)

Min already lets you use DuckDuckGo's Bangs to search on popular websites and perform actions in the browser. Starting in this release, you can add your own bangs for any website you like from the settings page.

Shortcut buttons

When you open a new tab, the searchbar now shows buttons to quickly let you view your history or bookmarks.

Usage statistics collection

Starting in this release, Min will collect anonymous statistics on how you use it (such as your operating system and language) and how often you use certain features. Collecting this information helps us prioritize what to work on and make Min better. These statistics don't include any personally-identifiable information, and we don't collect your history, passwords, or any other private data you have stored in Min.

You can learn more about what's collected here. If you want to opt out, you can do so from the settings page inside Min.

Thank you to everyone that contributed in this release! This release includes several new features and a number of other improvements, which are detailed below.

Note: After upgrading to this version, you'll have to sign in again to any websites you were previously signed in to.

This release features a brand-new app icon (courtesy of @Hi_IamBen)! It's simpler and fits in better on new versions of macOS:

Built-in Password Manager

Starting in this release, you can now save your passwords directly inside Min, without needing to connect an external password manager. When you sign in to a website, you'll see an option to save your credentials:

And you can autofill them later by clicking on the key icon inside a login page. Saved passwords are stored in your operating system's keychain, and can be viewed from Min's preferences:

Min now lets you mute and un-mute tabs directly from the tab bar:

First, thank you to everyone that completed the survey from the last release! Based on your feedback, this release includes a number of changes, with more to come. If you haven't completed it yet, you can find it here.

During the past few months, we've also been working to better organize the issue tracker, and it's now much easier to find existing issues. Thank you to @KagamineP, @Sestowner, @antfu, and @Syndamia for your help!

There are a number of improvements in this release:

UI Improvements

  • Icons in Min have been updated, and now fit better with the rest of the interface (by @antfu)

  • On Windows and Linux, the tab bar now supports drag-and-drop to rearrange tabs.
  • Added dark mode support to the PDF viewer.
  • It's now easier to see the progress of downloaded files.

Content blocking

  • The searchbar now includes a button to quickly disable content blocking on a site.
  • The settings page now shows the number of requests that have been blocked.
  • Added an option to create custom resource filters (more information).

More options for userscripts

Userscripts let you extend Min and add features like Vim keybindings or a dark theme for websites. Starting in this release, you can give your scripts names, specify which sites they should run on, and run scripts from the context menu. See the documentation for more information on creating scripts, or open an issue if you need help.

Reader mode improvements

  • Reader mode now has an improved UI, and can be translated into multiple languages (by @idAlencar)
  • Once you open a page in reader mode, it will automatically open in reader mode when you navigate back to it in the future.

After you upgrade, you'll be prompted to answer some questions about how you use Min so that we can continue improving it in the future. If you don't receive the notification, you can take the survey here.

Other improvements

  • You can now start a search in Min from the command line using the -s parameter.
  • The browser command list now shows all available commands.
  • Focus mode now shows all open tabs in the current task.
  • The task overlay now shows icons for pages inside collapsed tasks.
