Special instruction before upgrade

Starting with version 2.0, BSDRP now needs at least a 4GB disk, instead of the previous 2GB. If you installed BSDRP on a 2GB disk, you won’t be able to upgrade it. But if you installed it on a 4GB (or larger) disk, you can resize the system slice using this command: system resize-system-slice 3921919

New features

The Nanobsd framework is now replaced by poudriere-image. This brings:
- Support for both BIOS and UEFI boot (you'll need to reinstall to add the EFI boot partition)
- Migration from MBR to GPT
- Packages built using the official poudriere method
New packages:
- net/bird: Enable BGP Monitor Protocol
- net/frr10: replace net/frr9
- net/vpp
- dns/dnsmasq (will replace isc-dhcp44 and dhcprelya)
- python 3.11 (this one added more than 100M of libs)
Removed packages:
- freevrrpd (carp is now supporting VRRP mode)
- ucarp (no more conflict once carp enabled in VRRP mode)
Deprecated packages (will be removed in next release):
- isc-dhcp44 (use dnsmasq, kea requires 300MB disk space with its dependencies)
- dhcprelya (use dnsmasq)

To fix

partition resize to test (on BIOS based)
bootonce script that should do:
- gpart recover da0 (fix 'corrupt' status on gpt partitions)
- Check for bootfailed attribute and act regarding
- Update script need to be updated to add bootonce and not removing bootme
Fix root/.ssh with bad permissions, sshd refuses to use it

Special upgrade notes for installation older than BSDRP 1.93

BSDRP since 1.93 needs at minimum a 2GB disk and no more a 1GB disk. If you've installed BSDRP on a 1GB disk: You can't upgrade it. But if you installed it on a 2GB disk (or larger), here is how to resize system slice: system resize-system-slice 1911680

UPGRADE PROCEDURE (if your installation is older than BSDRP 1.51)

BSDRP since 1.51 needs at minimum a 512MB disk and no more a 256MB disk.

If you've installed BSDRP on a 256MB disk: You can't upgrade it.

But you installed it on a 512MB disk (or larger), here is how to resize the partitionning system:

Upgrade procedure

The new nanobsd script change the glabel name scheme of the partition, then the embedded upgrade script can't manage theses new names. You need to use a special upgrade script, that will convert partition name.

1 Download the special upgrade script to your router in /tmp As example, using fetch: cd /tmp fetch http://bsdrp.net/tools/upgrade-to-035 chmod +x /tmp/upgrade-to-035 2 Launch the upgrade using this newly downloaded upgrade script As example, from a SSH server: ssh username@ssh-sever-name cat /directory-to/BSDRP_0.35_upgrade_i386_serial.img.xz | unxz | /tmp/upgrade-to-035 3 Once done, reboot and answer "no" to the question "Do you want to save your configuration?"
