Session Proposal: To know you is to love you. Diversifying Node.js.

I love our Node.js community of collaborators, imperfect as we all can be. We know that diverse teams lead to better innovation, yet there is a lack of diversity among the TSC and Collaborators. Let’s have a working session on how to recruit and retain diverse talent to the Node.js project. We can possibly fold this into the Next-10 session proposals.

Areas we can cover:

• What’s our culture? How is that reflected to the outside world?
• What’s the best way to break into the project as a new contributor?
• Where can we engage to attract new, diverse talent?
• Linux Foundation research on DEI found that “Time is a top deterrent” for open source participation, and more so for women.
