Cannot sucessfully provision Azure appliance (Petrosian-1)

Hello,

I have a problem with provisioning appliance on Azure.
No matter how I try it, cli or portal, it just takes ages to finish and then eventually deployment times out.

After some, rather long, time I see VM is in a running state but it's not accessible over the network. NSG rules are in place.

Any ideas ?

This trips people up often, there is a "Provisioning State" that we wait to equal "Succeeded" before we consider the deployment successful. Can you check that property on your deployed instance?

@agrare - thx for the answer but I don't have this machine anymore.

But will try again tomorrow.
Would it help if I used bigger vm size so it has more cpus and ram ?

I tried once more with vm size 4cpu/32gb ram. Same effect. I get this error:
"The resource write operation failed to complete successfully, because it reached terminal provisioning state 'Failed' ".

When I display vm properties it also reports "provisioningState": "Failed".

After vm restart it reports "provisioningState": "Updating".

Thanks @as400l, so that is definitely why your provision request doesn't complete and that error comes from Azure not from MIQ. I recommend investigating the failure on the Azure side.
