Variable helpers examples

default value with empty default:

  • aa:{{.myvar.foo | default ""}}end
  • with no variable defined
  • will return aa:end

default value:

  • aa:{{.myvar.foo | default "bar" }}:end
  • with no variable defined
  • will return aa:bar:end

default value with variables (easy):

  • {{.myvar.foo | default .val }}
  • with variable val=biz
  • will return biz

default value with variables (not so easy):

  • {{.myvar.foo | default .myvar.bar }}
  • with variable myvar.bar=biz
  • will return biz

default value with variables (so hard):

  • {{.myvar.foo | default .myvar.bar .myvar.biz }}
  • with variable myvar.biz=biz
  • will return biz

default value with variables (with pipeline):

  • {{.myvar.foo | default .myvar.bar | default .myvar.biz | upper }}
  • with variable myvar.biz=biz
  • will return BIZ

default value with knowned var:

upper:

title and filter on unknow:

many:

two keys with same first characters:

substring:

  • with variable name=github
  • will return name: hello-githu

trunc:

  • test_{{.m.workflow}}_{{.git.hash | trunc 8 }}
  • with variables
    • m.workflow=myWorkflow

add:

urlencode query:

ternary truthy:

ternary truthy integer:
