This is not a high priority, but many users expect to be able to do this.

Steve - what do you want to happen with the data they contributed?

Let's think through the implications if it gets deleted...

Lectures?

Embedded on other sites?

Do you care if broken videos appear - OR do you want some kind of default message to show.... like "Video has been deleted"? (not sure how/if that's possible)

Hmm. That's a good point. From a fair use perspective, it's important that each clip should have a person who uploaded it. If a user's account is deleted, it should delete all of that person's media (if possible)! This has not been a problem so far. It has only come up when people have duplicate accounts with no uploads and I have to delete them manually. This is LOW priority -- especially if it is difficult to do!

It does sound a bit complicated for now, and probably needs some good speccing out, and thinking through all the scenarios.

Would it be best if a user could REQUEST to delete an account, in which case it goes to the Manager/Admin via an email, and you can select what media and commentaries you wish to delete out of all their contributions? Just in case deleting anything made something suddenly not have a commentary, or ruined a really good lecture, or something...
