Understand reroute and retry options and create suitable output

I do not have a good understanding how reroute and retry option function, and how we can create suitable output.
I believe we should get rid of the counters in the state. One nice feature would be if a request (from the request worker) contains information, if this is a retry and which iteration it is, and possibly also if waiting was applied.
