and the folder i exported is there, but the commands still don't run when typed at the command line... which is really strange and I don't know how to fix that. On another machine exporting the folder to PATH worked fine.
My workaround was to copy the files from the hcxtools folder into /usr/local/bin and then the commands were available to execute globally.
I also had the same issue with hashcat-utils and also had to copy the contents of that folder to /usr/local/bin and I had to edit the shell script to rename cap2hccapx to cap2hccapx.bin and then hashcatch --setup would complete with 'All necessary packages are found installed.' ... or you can rename cap2hccapx.bin to cap2hccapx either option will work.
