If it helps, that's what I plan to do with NPD. I've already done a v4.2.1 run with the ice bug fixed and confirmed that I can now revert the salinity restoration to -33.333333 without the AMOC dropping. |
Sounds sensible. Would any of the fixes benefit AMM15 or is it neutral in that region? |
Hi James,
A few of us had a meeting with David Schroeder this morning. It seems that their branch for dev. of the ice form drag is 4.2.1. Not sure if there might be any implications here in moving to 4.2.2, as David was assuming we would use 4.2.1 for the forced-ocean expts.

NEMO tag 4.2.2 is due for release within days - suggestion to move to that before we go too far down the road with 4.2.1. (4.2.2 is essentially 4.2.1 with a bugs fixes and tidy up - no dev)
Shouldn't take very long to do as most of the migration from 4.0.4 to 4.2.1 is the same for 4.2.2.

Aha! I should have read emails in order. It seems to make sense to go to 4.2.2. I’ll mention it to David Schroeder to inform him of the plans and to see if he has any feedback.
