NeuroImaging Workgroup Principles

Principles/Goals

  1. Increase collaboration between investigators/researchers that use MRI
  2. Enable sharing of ideas/tools related to MRI
  3. Remove information silos held in labs
  4. Reduce "recreating the wheel" in individual labs
  5. Educate early career researchers about the latest tools used by researchers

How we (currently) achieve the Principles/Goals

  • Use surveys to identify needs of the community
  • Find someone willing to present on their cool tool/technique.
  • Host a monthly meeting to come together (learn/see who everyone is) and have that someone present on the cool tool/technique they use.
  • Place the presenter's tutorial/code on a public repository so it is accessible to the public.
  • Share opportunities/resources to the community

Maintainer Responsibilities

  • finding a monthly presenter
  • reserving a space (I'm currently working with Vince)
  • updating the github with monthly notes
  • updating the github with presentations and code (when applicable)
  • keeping an eye out for opportunities/resources that researchers may find useful
  • recording the meeting (optional)
  • sending out a survey (~once a year) to see what people want to learn about
  • collaborate with hacky hour when interests align.
