This is mostly so that people that hit the same issue have a way to find out how to fix it.
I updated bevy's dependency on my game, that also had a dependency on gilrs. This resulted in two distinct versions of gilrs being present in the dependency tree (0.8 and 0.10) This doesn't create an error, but it will prevent bevy from detecting controllers.
To check if you have two different versions of gilrs as dependency, run cargo tree -i gilrs and see if two different versions show up.
You should avoid having duplicate dependencies in your dependency tree. Duplicate dependencies fatten and slow your final binary, and can lead to unexpected bugs. Use cargo-deny to avoid duplicate dependencies.
