Feature/hacksheffield society community assessment #10
Conversation
Awesome assessment of the community, really loved looking at the website and other resources. It looks like you guys have poured a lot into the society in terms of events which is really cool. I especially like the breakdown of communication mediums, I'd be interested to know how successful Slack has been for you guys, is it something that's only used during events or do you find it's still used outside of hacks? |
👋 @BlueHatbRit: Our Slack doesn't get heavy usage but is used by the more active folks and is super helpful for organising. |

Hey Matt! Thanks for this, great window into your community. The comments here may seem a little sparse, but I believe we've discussed your case a lot, and there's a lot of what we discussed that is hard to reflect here. Let me know if there's anything you want me to add more thought on

We use Slack for team communication, facebook group for notifications: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1107551632685288/, facebook page for events https://www.facebook.com/pg/HackSheffield/events/. A committee meets most weeks to organise events, but no regular meetup for everyone. |

How does Slack work out, for you?
Not exclusively from CS, but many are. Those that aren't from CS are often very passionate.
- Is your community open to other topics, or are their interests very specific?
|
||
Topics are usually tech-related but open to anything that will peak interest from the community. |
