SHARING POINT

  • 29-11-2021: Alex Megann's presentation on the impact of tides and z~ vertical coordinate. Slides

  • 07-01-2022: Chris Wilson's tarball with files and text notes comparing the tide run parameters of RENUMERATE vs. SE-NEMO. tar file

  • 18-02-2022: Chris Wilson's plot for REF_TIDE of global volume-mean potential temperature timeseries for various choices of timestep. After the initial spinup of about 7 yrs, the trend for 720s and 900s timestep is approx. 4.4e-3 K/yr - see this plot, between the envelopes of global and Southern Ocean observational estimates from IPCC AR5 - see this plot. The trend for 1800s timestep for REF_TIDE is about double 4.4e-3 K/yr. The temperature trend for the 1800s REF_NOTIDE run is about 10 per cent of the REF_TIDE run with 1800s time step. The REF_NOTIDE run may have too weak a climate sensitivity for this measure of temperature change.
