Overview: Towards direct model representation of sea-level.
Plans: Assessing volume budget in current models. Examine drivers of modelled global-mean sea-level drift, e.g. non-equilibrium of the deep ocean; non-conservation due to forcing; spurious mixing. Seek corrections for drift, including better initialisation methods. Coupled O-A vs forced O (suggested by Met Office).
Consider options for including steric terms e.g. non-Boussinesq.
Link to ice-shelves/glaciers as boundary volume/mass sources.
Extremes are a key motivation here\
