Encumbrance_Simple
A player character has inventory slots equal to their Strength. This number describes how much they can carry without becoming encumbered (so long as they are carrying a pack. A pack uses no slots.)
A player character can carry up to double their Strength, but each extra 2 slots used reduces movement speed by half.
Most items, including spellbooks, potions, a day’s rations, light weapons, tools, and so on use 1 slot each, but particularly heavy or bulky items like armor or medium to heavy weapons may take up more slots.
The first three slots may be instantly accessed without searching the character's pack. If an item is in hand, it's in one of the first three slots.
Small items of one kind may be bundled (3 scrolls , 3 bottles, 5 torches, 100 coins, 20 arrows) into 1 Slot.
Very small items (1 coin, a garrote) use no slots.
